Attorney Rossi has been involved in special education and education law for over a decade. Rossi began her career in the public sector by teaching special education while attending law school. In addition to a juris doctorate, Attorney Rossi has a masters of education degree in Special Education. Her thesis, “From Zero to Infinite Tolerance: An Examination of Exclusion Rates in Massachusetts Public Schools”, is available at http://www.eric.ed.gov. Attorney Rossi was Executive Director of the Berkshire County Educational Associates (BCEA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting families in their pursuit of protecting their children’s rights and obtaining appropriate educational services through the public school system. BCEA helps parents negotiate with their school district and understand their children’s rights under federal and state law. Attorney Rossi provides direct representation as well as informational workshops for parents, teachers, attorneys, and advocates. Rossi provides representation in all areas of education including, IEP meetings, resolution sessions, mediations, due process hearings, state and federal courts. Rossi handles disciplinary matters involving suspensions and expulsions. Attorney Rossi has been on both sides of the team, which gives her the knowledge and experience to better help her clients. A veteran of dozens of school meetings, her strong advocacy skills have ensure that schools meet their obligations to provide students an education appropriate to their unique needs. Attorney Rossi is an advocate with a genuine commitment to providing high quality advocacy to students. BUSINESS LAW
Attorney Rossi offers a range of business law services from startup to dissolution. She gives practical legal advice on entity formation, operating agreements, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, and 501(c) issues. Attorney Rossi is not a tax attorney; therefore, she does not advise on the tax related issues of business entity choice as each structure carries with it unique tax consequences. Attorney Rossi has experience providing legal consultation to companies involved in food service, education, advocacy, information technology and real estate investing. She helps clients establish domestic and foreign limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships. Attorney Rossi prepares various legal disclaimers and contracts essential to protect businesses including but not limited to employee handbooks, confidentiality agreements, indemnification agreements, company policies and procedures, operating agreements, bylaws, service agreements, structured settlements, corporate resolutions, and shareholder agreements.
REAL ESTATE LAW
Attorney Rossi provides closing and title services to national and local banks, mortgage companies, loan officers, brokers, and consumers. She prepares deeds, searches titles, processes and executes closings. Attorney Rossi also assists with purchase and sales agreements. Attorney Rossi has experience with the following financial institutions, among others: Bank of America, Berkshire Bank, Greylock Federal Credit Union, Lee Bank, NBT Bank, PNC Bank, RBS Citizens, TD North, Wells Fargo. Attorney Rossi has conducted dozens of real estate transactions for clients throughout Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire Counties in Massachusetts. As a notary public commissioned in New York, she also executes closings in Albany, Rensselaer, and Washington Counties.
